Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

That is an interesting hobby you have. I'm originally from KY, but doubt the album you found belonged to my family. Regarding the mystery houses, when I was young especially (but even nowadays, too, sometimes) I daydream about abandoned houses. I know a lot about the past from my interest and education and can create quite fascinating images and tales in my mind.
ReplyDeleteI can spend hours in thrift stores and flea markets looking through old photographs belonging to complete strangers. I find it a bittersweet way to pass the time.
Thanks for visiting! I've been so lazy at blogging. Your visit makes me realize I need to get back to blogging. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI will get the KY album out again, I know there were some names in it, primarily first names.
Hello Elizabeth, the coat I made alludes to a period style of the 1950's with the sleeves gathered at the top and the long scarf down the front. The matching hat shows it is definitely not a bathrobe, and even the cheapest fleece is very snug and warm. There are many fleece jackets being manufactured these days and I got the idea from seeing a pink and a blue one in a store, with zipper and hood. Fleece is made into many outer-wear things these days, as is flannel, which used to be only for pyjamas and nightgowns. I hope this answers your questions and I hope you will visit again.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lydia, I learn something new everyday. :-)
